Printytron (printytron.com) is a free web app that turns a plain-English description of a physical part into a downloadable, 3D-printable STL file. An AI agent builds the model live, iterates with you in chat, and self-corrects before showing results. No account is needed to start, and the STL works in any slicer.
What is Printytron?
Printytron is an AI 3D-modelling tool for makers. You describe the part you need in everyday language and receive a print-ready STL — no CAD skills, no software to install. It is an independent project, currently in alpha, and free to use.
How does it work?
- Go to the builder and type what you need in plain English, e.g. “a cable holder that clips to a 25mm desk edge.”
- The AI builds the model, and it renders live in an interactive 3D preview.
- You refine it by chatting — “make it 30mm wide, add a chamfer” — and it keeps the full context of the conversation.
- Click Download STL, give it a name and description, and the file downloads. You can optionally publish it to the public gallery at its own shareable link.
What file do I get?
An STL file — the only export. It is universal: open it in any slicer (Bambu Studio, PrusaSlicer, Cura, OrcaSlicer) and print it in any material the slicer supports (PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, resin). Printytron does not currently export STEP, OBJ, or 3MF.
What can it make?
Printytron is best at functional and decorative single parts:
- Brackets, clips, holders, mounts, and fittings
- Replacement parts — knobs, caps, spacers, small broken bits
- Name plates, tags, and typography (using roughly 1,900 Google fonts)
- Novelty and decorative prints
What can't it do?
- It is not a sculpting tool or a full CAD replacement.
- It builds one model per session — no multi-part assemblies or moving mechanisms.
- It has no image input yet — you describe parts in words.
- It refuses copyrighted characters, branded IP, and real-person likenesses.
- It is not a slicer and does not export STEP, OBJ, or 3MF.
What can the AI do?
- Builds real geometry with true millimetre dimensions, holes, and units.
- Reviews its own work — it checks the model against what you asked and can catch and fix obvious mistakes before showing you.
- Automatically corrects any part that would sit below the print bed, so models land flat and printable.
- Iterates conversationally, keeping the full context of your session.
- Renders a part-aware, colour-coded 3D preview with labelled components.
- Can ask you a clarifying question (for example, to pick a font) when it helps.
Is it free? Do I need an account?
Printytron is free, with no paid tier. You can use it anonymously and indefinitely. Signing up (also free) raises your limits and keeps your models across devices; work you build anonymously carries over when you sign up. Accounts use email + password (with email verification) or Google sign-in.

Prompts reset with each new model; the monthly model count resets at the end of each month (UTC).
Who is it for?
Anyone with a 3D printer and a part they need: makers fixing or building something by hand, small-shop and side-hustle sellers, people printing replacements for things that broke, and anyone who wants a printable part without learning CAD.
Is my work private?
Yes. Your build sessions, prompts, and chats are never public. Only models you explicitly download and choose to show in the gallery become public — and even then the gallery shows just the name and description you picked, never your prompts.
Who runs Printytron?
An independent project by Cadell, at the domain printytron.com. When you email sayhi@printytron.com, it goes to a real human who reads everything.

Yes. Printytron reviews each model against what you asked before showing it to you, and it automatically corrects a part that would sit below the print bed so your model lands flat and printable. If something is still off, you refine it in chat.
