Description
A wall-mounted rest built to hold a hot clothes iron safely out of the way next to an ironing board. The 130x200mm tray secures the iron behind a 15mm retaining rim, while a grid of 12mm-tall square posts keeps the hot soleplate suspended in the air so it can cool down faster. The tray is supported by a 110mm backplate and three structural gussets to handle the weight of a water-filled iron without tearing out of the drywall.

This is a structural baseline—adjust the parameters to fit the exact iron and mounting location:
- Tray Dimensions: The 130x200mm footprint fits a standard domestic iron. Scale the width and depth if adapting this for a compact travel iron or an oversized professional model.
- Cooling Grid: The posts are 6x6mm spaced on a 14mm grid. A denser grid offers smoother sliding, while taller posts increase the ambient airflow.
- Backplate Drop: The 110mm drop provides necessary leverage for drywall anchors. If mounting directly into a solid wood stud, the plate drop can be shortened and the outer screw holes removed in favor of a single center column.
- Gusset Extensions: The center support gusset is an ideal anchor point to extend outward and carve out a hook for wrapping the power cord.
