Rover Rocker-Bogie Linkage

Description

A rigid frame is useless when half the wheels are off the ground. This replaces the solid chassis problem with the exact kinematic linkage used on the Mars rovers, ensuring all six wheels maintain contact over uneven terrain.

The kit is laid out for flat printing without supports and assembles via flanged friction pegs.

Assembly Clearances

  • Holes: 8.0 mm
  • Pegs: 7.6 mm (0.4 mm clearance for smooth rotation)
  • Short Pegs: Connect the chassis to the long rocker arms, and the rocker arms to the smaller bogie arms.
  • Long Pegs: Mount the six wheels to the ends of the arms. The flange acts as a built-in washer to keep the wheels from rubbing the linkage.
